Common Failure symptoms:

Open or short circuit in wiring sub lead
Open or short circuit in wiring harness.
Defective cylinder identification sensor.
Malfunction in ECU.
Improperly installed sensor.
Malfunction in pickup rotor.
Intake air pressure sensor hose is detached, clogged, kinked, or pinched.
Malfunction of the intake air pressure sensor in the intermediate electrical potential.
Malfunction of the atmospheric pressure sensor in the inter-mediate electrical potential.

Common fault codes:

11 – No normal signals are received from the cylinder identification sensor.
12 – No normal signals are received from the crankshaft position sensor.
13 – Intake air pressure sensor 1 – open or short circuit detected
14 – Incorrect Crank Position Sensor Signal
15 – Incorrect Engine Temperature Sensor Signal
16 – A stuck throttle position sensor is detected.
16 – Faulty intake air pressure sensor pipe system
17 – Knock Sensor
31 – No Tach Signal Output from ECU (OX66)
35 – ECU Processing Information (OX66)

The backside of the ECU has bubbled a bit as well, and has some hard, metal protrusions that are close to breaking through.

ECU has a pin hole, some deformities, and some leaked fluid.

The engine, shows where the ECU lives, and the stain left on the engine. The fluid is very thick, brown, now dry.

Purchasing a replacement is very expensive, it will require coding to the vehicle at an extra expense and will only be covered by a short one week warranty.
